About

This blog is dedicated to outlining solutions which could help us to reach a sustainable world.

We are currently living in an unsustainable world; the generations that follow this one can not survive because our activities are destroying their ability to sustain themselves.  Not only that, our own survival is also under threat because the time lines on some of the problems are much shorter than humanity’s awareness of them.

While many of the problems facing humanity as outlined can be described as catastrophic, and the effort required to solve many of these might be described as something enormous beyond the wartime efforts of the world wars, we have within our grasp many of the solutions. Opportunities we should consider include:

  1. We have far more knowledge now than ever before
  2. The accumulation of innovation means our technological toolkits are vast
  3. Information is more freely available than ever before
  4. Although the problems are multi-faceted, many of the solutions address multiple problems at the same time.

There are also great threats to achieving sustainability, the biggest ones being the failures in the human condition such as power, greed, information overload and the blindness of the majority to the problems.
The aims of the blog are to:

  1. Narrow the knowledge gap regarding the problems and the threats
  2. Explore our the major flaws in our mindsets
  3. Provide solutions.
